On the evening of November 25, the closing and awarding ceremony of the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival took place in Da Lat City.
In the feature film category, there were 16 works selected for the competition, including: Southern Forest Land, Brilliant Ashes;
The final result, Brilliant Ashes took home 5 important awards including: Golden Lotus, feature film;

Previously, the film won the highest award at the Three Continents Film Festival in France, the 2023 Golden Kite Award. Director Bui Thac Chuyen was the only person to speak on stage about 1 minute after receiving the Bong Award.
He shared: `I still have a hard time believing it because I myself made this movie after 10 years of not making a movie. Actually making a movie is very difficult.
After 2 years of Covid-19, Vietnamese film production is even more difficult.

The 23rd Film Festival had 3 films winning the Silver Lotus award: Em and Trinh;
The Little Girl Gleaning Her Husband won the Jury Award for a feature film.
The Jury Award category for feature films belongs to the movie `The Husband-Grooming Girl`.
You and Trinh were awarded the Majestic Highlands award for a work with beautiful scenes set in Lam Dong.
In the acting categories, Thai Hoa continued to win the Best Male Lead award for his role in The Little Husband, but he was absent, actor Tien Luat accepted instead.
Actresses Dinh Y Nhung and Mai Cat Vy in Mom, Butterfly both received the Best Actress award.
However, Bui Lan Huong did not come to the closing ceremony, so her boyfriend, director Nguyen Quang Dung, accepted instead.

Speaking at the closing ceremony and awards ceremony of the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Cinema Department, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival commented that this year’s Festival brings inspiration for artistic creativity.
According to Mr. Thanh, from 177 films participating in the festival, the Selection Council selected 146 films, including 91 films in competition, 56 films in the panorama program.
The feature film genre is a genre that always receives public attention during film festivals.

`This year’s film festival has many good feature films, improved artistic quality, a lot of creativity in cinematic language, and many unique discoveries in how to tell a story.
The filmmaking team from producers, screenwriters, directors, actors, cinematographers, music, sound and editing are increasingly professional.
16 feature films entered the competition with diverse and rich content and expression.
Regarding the documentary genre, Mr. Thanh said, the 31 films submitted for the competition have quite diverse topics, reflecting all aspects of social life, serving political tasks.
`The film quality is quite uniform and reveals a new filmmaking style approaching the world documentary cinema language, showing new prospects for international integration in the field of documentary films, the emergence of creative trends.
