In recent months, Toyota has continuously adjusted and increased prices on a number of vehicle models.
Accept price increase or pay deposit
Ordering a Raize at Toyota Quang Tri since the beginning of March, Mr. Long (Dong Ha, Quang Tri) is anxious when he has not yet received the car.
Many customers who ordered Toyota Raize cars were `overturned` by dealers and applied new prices.
This customer said he signed an economic contract and deposited 10 million VND to buy a black Toyota Raize for 527 million VND.
`The contract I signed in early March was on white paper with black ink and a red stamp from the company confirming the purchase of a Toyota Raize car with a price of 527 million VND at that time. Now the price of the car has increased, the dealer is forcing customers back.
According to this customer, the staff at the Toyota Quang Tri dealership said that if he did not accept the new price (increased by 20 million VND), the showroom would refund the deposit.
The contract to buy Toyota Raize was at a price of 527 million VND, but the dealer `turned the car around` and asked the customer to buy it at a new price, 547 million VND.
Mr. Long’s story is also a problem that some other customers encounter.
The fact that customers deposit 10 million VND but the price of the car increases by 15-20 million VND causes many dealers to `turn the deal` and ask customers to buy at the new price, otherwise the deposit will be canceled.
Recurring situation of `beer with peanuts`
A customer was asked to re-sign the contract due to increased vehicle prices and had to purchase additional accessories.
Not only did he `force` customers to buy the car at the new price, the sales staff at Toyota Quang Tri also suggested that Mr. Long buy an additional 30 million VND in accessories if he wanted to receive it early.
According to Mr. Long, some people he knows who placed a deposit on the Toyota Raize later and accepted the `beer with peanuts` purchase have received the car.
