(Dan Tri) – The third appearance in court of the 45th former US President is no longer as new as the previous two times but is more serious due to the four new charges he faces.

Return to Washington D.C.

This is the third time in four months that Mr. Trump has had to appear in court to face criminal charges.

The New York Times commented that because Mr. Trump had been to court before, his third appearance was not strange.

Here are some notable points after Mr. Trump appeared in court on August 3.

Mr. Trump is not banned from running for office but is limited in contact

Mr. Trump’s declaration of innocence is not surprising.

In return, Mr. Trump agreed not to discuss the case with anyone he knew to be a witness, unless through a lawyer or in the presence of a lawyer.

The former US President also committed to appear in court when summoned and not violate the law while on bail.

Ms. Moxila Upadhyaya, the judge in charge of Mr. Trump’s most recent case, noted that Mr. Trump cannot retaliate against witnesses or obstruct proceedings.

The defendant is expected to delay as much as possible

Special prosecutor Jack Smith – who announced the latest indictment against Mr. Trump – once expressed his desire for a `swift trial` and it seemed that the first instance judge also agreed.

In Mr. Trump’s previous cases, the next meeting often took place many months later.

On August 3, judge Upadhyaya gave three tentative dates for the following meeting: August 21, August 22 or August 28.

`All we ask for is the opportunity to defend our client fairly,` said attorney John Lauro.

Finally, the judge set the next session for August 28, 5 days after the first Republican debate to prepare for the 2024 presidential election. Mr. Trump has not said whether he plans to participate.

Judge Upadhyaya also asked the prosecutor next week to submit a proposal for a trial date with an estimated length of the trial.

It is inevitable that the time of the trial will be entangled with developments in the political arena.

There is still no picture of Mr. Trump in court

Mr. Trump enters and leaves the courthouse through a passageway that is inaccessible to the public.

Events inside the court’s office may not be recorded or photographed, except for photos hand-drawn by the court’s artist.

Only a few reporters appeared in the courtroom to observe.

The above method is similar to the prosecution process in Miami in June. After the meeting in Miami, Mr. Trump stopped at a famous Cuban restaurant to campaign.

The impact on the 2024 election campaign is unclear

The US Constitution does not prohibit convicted persons from running for president.

After two previous indictments, Mr. Trump still maintained the support of Republican voters.

Earlier this week, the first New York Times/Siena College poll of the 2024 presidential campaign showed Mr. Trump leading 37 percentage points over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, his closest rival in the race.

Mr. Trump’s other legal troubles are also often accompanied by a sudden increase in fundraising activities.
