German federal prosecutors announced on April 23 that Mr. Jian G. was accused of sharing information about negotiations at the European Parliament with Chinese intelligence agencies.

Jian is a German national and is said to have worked as an assistant to politician Krah in Brussels since 2019.
German prosecutors said the suspect `is an employee of the Chinese secret service`.
According to prosecutors, the suspect was arrested in the city of Dresden, eastern Germany on April 22 and the suspect’s home was searched.
According to television stations ARD, RBB and SWR, which reported on the arrest, the suspect lives in both Dresden and Brussels.
The AfD party said the allegations were `very worrying`.
Previously, Germany on April 22 also arrested three citizens suspected of spying for China by providing secret maritime technology.
According to German media, these two incidents are not related.
