CNN quoted an Israeli official as saying that Israel’s war cabinet began meeting just before 4:00 p.m. (local time) today, April 14.
Israel’s war cabinet includes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Benny Gantz, leader of the National Coalition party and former Defense Minister.
The war cabinet meeting took place as Israel determined its response after Iran’s unprecedented airstrike late on April 13.
Iran has launched more than 300 drones and missiles from its territory toward Israel.
The Israeli military claims to have taken down `99%` of Iranian drones and missiles with the support of its partners.
Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz announced that Israel would force Iran to `pay the price in a manner and at a time that suits us`.
Mr. Gantz said Iran `has encountered the power of the Israeli security system,` implying minimal damage caused by Iran’s attack.
According to Minister Gantz, the attack showed that `the world clearly stands with Israel in the face of danger`.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, two of the Israeli government’s most hardline ministers, have called for a tough response to Iran’s attack.
`If Israel hesitates, we will put ourselves and our children in danger,` Minister Smotrich emphasized.
In a video statement, Smotrich called this a `moment of truth,` saying, `if our response resonates across the Middle East for generations to come, we will prevail.`
Minister Ben Gvir stated that Israel is not allowed to react `weakly`, and affirmed that ideas about a restrained response have disappeared since October 7, 2023, when Hamas forces attacked Israel.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that any `new act of aggression against Iran’s national interests will be met with a heavy and regrettable response`.
Iran’s foreign minister also made similar comments on social media, saying that Iran has no intention of `continuing defensive operations, but if necessary, will not hesitate to defend its legitimate interests against any
The leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that a `new equation` has been created following the attack on Israel and that they will now respond directly whenever Israel attacks its interests, assets, and assets.
Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, said Iran sent a message to the US through the Swiss embassy, warning Washington that if it cooperates with Israel in further actions, the bases
