Kyiv Post quoted intelligence sources as saying that Ukrainian military forces raided a Russian command center, where high-ranking Russian officers are located, in the Crimean peninsula.

Explosions rang out in Crimea on April 15 during an airstrike that lasted more than two hours.

According to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel, Russian aircraft were dispatched to the Crimean city of Sevastopol.

Traffic on the Crimea bridge was temporarily stopped.

The Russian Telegram channel claimed that the Ukrainian missile was shot down near the bridge.

Crimea has continuously been the target of Ukrainian drone and missile attacks since Russia began its military campaign in the neighboring country.

Crimea is a peninsula located in southern Ukraine, holding a strategic position on the Black Sea.

The Crimean peninsula in the Black Sea has become an important area helping Russia launch its military campaign in Ukraine.

The future status of the peninsula is expected to be a key content in any agreement to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In an interview with the German publicationĀ BildĀ last December, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced Kiev’s plans to regain control of the Crimean peninsula by 2024.

Minister Umerov is confident that this is Ukraine’s strategic goal.

Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said on March 30 that Russia had withdrawn almost all large ships from ports in Crimea after Ukraine’s raid.

Vasyl Maliuk, Director of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), said Ukraine is trying to push Russia’s Black Sea Fleet out of Crimea.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said last week that he and the Ukrainian government `really want to destroy Russian infrastructure,` including the Crimean bridge.

The Crimea Bridge was built between 2016 and 2018 and is the only road and rail route connecting the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia.

Since the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict in 2022, many officials and commanders in Ukraine have threatened to destroy the 19km bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula and the Krasnodar region.

Some Western media agencies commented that attacks on the Crimea bridge were inevitable.
